A CDT (Carbohydrate-Deficient Transferrin) test measures alcohol misuse markers in your blood. Elevated levels can indicate prolonged excessive alcohol consumption.
You may need a CDT test to prepare for a DVLA medical after a drink-driving ban, ensure you meet fitness-to-drive standards, or confirm reduced alcohol intake over time.
The CDT test involves drawing a small blood sample. A laboratory then analyses the sample to detect changes in transferrin protein due to heavy alcohol use.
Avoid excessive alcohol for several weeks before testing. Eating a balanced diet and staying hydrated can also support more accurate results.
At Drug Test London, we aim to get results back to you within 5 working days.
