Overview of the Test

The Liver Function Test is a blood test that checks several markers linked to liver function and liver health. It can help identify markers that may be associated with liver damage, including damage linked to persistent alcohol or drug misuse.

This liver blood test is often ordered alongside tests used to assess alcohol misuse, such as CDT, or alongside drug testing where additional health context may be useful.

Results include a doctor’s explanation. This test does not diagnose a condition on its own, and results should be discussed with a healthcare professional where appropriate.
