Results Take: Up to 2 working days

morning-sample  This test is ideally done between 8 and 11 am. This is because testosterone levels change during the course of the day and are highest at this time.

This testosterone test is a blood test to check the total amount of testosterone in your bloodstream.

It is important for you to mention if you have any medical problem or if you are taking any medication as this will aid interpretation of the result.

After ordering it, you will receive a confirmation message with a map and directions attached. You can then go to Patient Reception at The Doctors Laboratory to give the sample on a walk-in basis; no appointment is necessary. No fasting is required. The laboratory is open 7am – 7pm weekdays and 9am-5pm on Saturdays.

The result is usually available within 2 working days and will be e-mailed to you with an interpretation of its meaning.

liver-function-blood-test  Sometime combined with a liver function blood test to check for any damage to the liver if taking testosterone supplements.

Alternatively, if you would like to test yourself by skin-prick and post the sample to the laboratory, then click here. This has the advantage of convenience and can be done from anywhere in the UK.
